Ed Setzler was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2005 for the 35th district where he represented Acworth until his election to the Georgia State Senate for the 37th Senate District continuing to represent the citizens of Acworth. Ed is strongly supporting saying recently, “Steve is a leader who cares deeply about Acworth and preserving it as the truly unique community that it is!”

Chief Wayne Dennard is the retired police chief of Acworth having served the city for 20 years with the last 11 as chief. He has worked with Steve during Steve’s volunteer service in Acworth and had this to say, “Steve has a go-getter type of personality who is not going to be afraid to challenge the status quo but is also one to build consensus to work towards doing what is right and best for Acworth and its citizens. “

Tommy Allegood, the current mayor of Acworth supports Steve because, “Steve understands the importance of quality of life in our city. He has been a great volunteer partner and great leader in our community for over 20 years. Please join me in electing Steve Prather to Acworth’s City Council. “

Marvon Williams is one of the most respected small business owners in Acworth.  He also gives back to the community serving as Vice-Chair of the Acworth Downtown Development Authority and on the board for the Acworth Police Foundation. “I support Steve Prather because he didn’t ask for my vote, he earned it.  Steve asked questions to understand what’s important to me then offered his insight into how he would help to improve an already great city.  He was willing to listen.”

Gene Pugliese is the retiring alderman from Post 2 after serving 16 years on the city council and firmly believes, “Steve is the absolute best fit for this role at this time. Having grown up with Steve and experiencing his commitment in both his family and work lives, coupled with his decades of service to this community, he is the person I would hand pick if I could, but definitely choose to replace me as alderman.”

Todd Clingman is the long time head of North Cobb Christian School in Acworth and has known Steve for many years.  “Steve is a former parent at North Cobb Christian School and a longtime supporter of our community. A lifelong resident of Acworth, Steve has a firm belief in the Constitution and in the ideals upon which our nation was founded. He will undoubtedly be a strong addition to the Acworth City Council!”

Brett North is currently on the Acworth City Council as Alderman. He is running for reelection unopposed this season. Knowing Steve as well as he does, Brett says, “Steve has a long history of serving his community having spent some 30 years on the Acworth Lake Authority.  A lifelong Acworth resident Steve graduated North Cobb High School in 1979.  Retiring in 2020, Steve has the time and desire to serve.  If elected, Steve’s life experience, financial background and overall knowledge of the city will serve him and the citizens of Acworth well.”   

Abbie Parks is a long time resident of Acworth and a well respected preservationist and historian within Acworth and all of Cobb. About Steve, Abbie says, “For the past 3 decades, no matter what else is going on in his life, Steve has made time to volunteer and serve in Acworth. This is a logical step in his community service. “
